Regrets: Don’t Do It

I’m not a big fan of regrets, so I just don’t do it. There’s probably 2 ways to do this. For some it’s apathy- even when things go wrong they either don’t care and/or always blame it on others. I have a conscience so I can’t bring myself to do that. I avoid regret by taking a moment to think things through, paying attention to my conscience, and just not doing things I’ll regret. There’s probably only a handful of things I regret (I.e less than 10…otherwise it’ll be more than a handful of fingers). I’m sure most people have more…I’m just super careful by survival training. But either way, regret ( and the events that cause the regret) really really sucks.

Contrary to what some people think, you can’t control much outside yourself. So, actions have consequences, some good some bad. There’s usually some voice inside, however small, telling u to do or not to do something…especially if you’ve done it before. The dumber, wishfully naive part of you may “convince yourself” just because it went bad last time doesn’t mean it will again.

Don’t get convinced by your dumb self. You’re smarter than that. Believing that is insanity-defined as doing something over and over expecting a different outcome.

Also, get to know yourself. You’ll know better what you will and won’t regret. Spend more time with yourself…you’ll be surprised.
